B Baker Street puts you in Sherlock Holmes' shoes. It's an experience and it's exactly what you would expect it to be; cracking clues and solving cases. This is a brilliant game, it's a more in depth version of cluedo. We play this with our 10yr old daughter (she's allowed to use google for the harder clues). There are 75 scenarios included in the book. It does take a while to play so definitely not a quick game, but it's great fun and it really makes you think. B Baker Street is the London address of the world's most celebrated fictional detective, Sherlock Holmes, and his dedicated companion, Dr. Watson. In this game you start at B and travel through the streets and alleys of London picking up clues and attempting to solve the most intriguing cases Holmes and Watson have ever faced. A few years ago, I was able to find and purchase an older Holmes-esque game: b Baker Street, a detective game where you try to discover the culprit, the means, and the motive for each case the game offers. Each case is a small paragraph that gives the players some vague information regarding the possible crime ahead of them. This version is absolutely fantastic!!!! Quality is excellent, as is gameplay. The case card sets the scene of the crime and also states what needs to be solved in order to win. Some cases only ask for the normal who did it, what with and why but other cards ask for extra things as well, for example, where the diamond has been hidden.
You need to visit different locations around the board in order to find the clues which will hopefully help you to crack the case. Once you arrive at a location, you look at the card where there will be a number next to the location.
You then turn to that number in the clue book and read your clue. You then note down on your solution checklist anything which you think is important and then your turn has ended.
Some are simple and tell you something that will easily help you solve the crime. Simple actions are also involved. Players just need to go into every building they can and gain a clue from each place they visit.
There are 75 Case cards in the base game, each game uses one Case card, the card will instruct you on what you need to discover.
You are all Sherlock Holmes, so dust off your deerstalker, clean up your magnifying glass and get detecting!

I don't know if likening it to Clue does it justice, but the concept of the two games is similar. However, B Baker Street is more complex in that you are not just looking for simple clues, but subtler clues with varying degrees of depth and relevance, and you have to figure out how, or if, those clues go together.
You can play against each other, as teams, or cooperatively. What is awesome about the Deluxe Edition is that you get cases! You do the math.
This is a very fun game, not for kids, but easy for most adults to learn and play. If you enjoy board gaming then B Baker Street is a must have in my opinion.

Yes, the board is nice, and there are cases to play. But the cases are made for the average year-old. Seriously, I had case number one figured out before ANY clues were "found.
I've read the reviews comparing it to CLUE, saying that CLUE was dumb and boring. I disagree; with CLUE it is impossible to determine the solution of the game before a die is rolled, but with this game, that is indeed possible.
Even my elderly parent thought the game was a waste of time and money. My recommendation is that, if you have year-olds who might enjoy a mystery-solving game, go ahead and buy it.
Otherwise, just play CLUE and save yourself some money. They really responsive if there is a problem. They are officially my game supplier!
